New Year, New Priorities: How High-Achieving Moms Can Make 2025 Their Best Year Yet

Happy New Year Sis!! (Can you believe it's 2025?!) Now listen, the start of a new year always brings a mix of emotions. For high-achieving moms like us, it’s not just about setting resolutions—it’s about figuring out how to fit those resolutions into an already packed schedule. Sound familiar? Between work, family, and trying to carve out a little time for ourselves, it can feel like there’s no room left for anything new.

But this year, let’s do things differently. Instead of piling on more "shoulds," let’s focus on what truly matters to us. Here’s how I’m planning to make 2025 a year of balance and fulfillment—and I hope you’ll join me on this journey.

1. Take an Honest Look at Your Time

Have you ever reached the end of the day and wondered, "Where did all my time go?" Me too. That’s why I’ve started doing time audits. It sounds fancy, but it’s really just about tracking how I spend my days for a week. It’s eye-opening to see how much time goes to things that don’t actually align with my priorities. It’s also empowering to realize where I can make changes—even small ones—to reclaim my time.

2. Set "Good Enough" Goals

I’ve learned (the hard way) that trying to do everything perfectly is the fastest route to burnout. So this year, I’m embracing "good enough" goals. For me, that means aiming for three 30-minute workouts a week instead of trying to hit the gym daily. Or planning one family game night a month instead of feeling guilty for not doing it every week. Progress, not perfection, is the name of the game.

3. Make Self-Care Non-Negotiable

Let’s be real: self-care often feels like the first thing to go when life gets busy. But I’ve learned that taking care of myself isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. This year, I’m committing to small, consistent acts of self-care. For me, that might mean sneaking in a 5-minute reset when the day feels overwhelming, putting on my favorite playlist while cooking dinner, or starting the day with an affirmation that reminds me of my worth. What could self-care look like for you?

4. Work Smarter, Not Harder

If you haven’t tried the Eisenhower Matrix yet, let me tell you: it’s a game-changer. It helps me sort my never-ending to-do list into what truly matters versus what can wait or even be delegated. It’s not about doing everything—it’s about doing the right things. Trust me, this simple tool can help you feel more in control of your time.

5. Celebrate Every Win—Even the Small Ones

Here’s something I’ve started doing that’s been a game-changer: celebrating my wins, no matter how small they seem. Did I make it through a tough workday without losing my patience? Win. Did I stick to my "good enough" goals for the week? Huge win. Every step forward deserves recognition because it’s proof that you’re showing up for yourself and your priorities.

A Challenge for You (and Me!)

Here’s my challenge: let’s commit to one small, intentional change this week. Maybe it’s spending 5 minutes journaling each morning, or maybe it’s carving out time to plan your week. Whatever it is, start small and build from there. Those little steps add up in ways you can’t imagine.

Let’s Navigate 2025 Together

I get it: balancing everything isn’t easy. But we don’t have to do it alone. I’m creating a space for moms like us to share tips, celebrate wins, and support each other as we redefine what success looks like. Stay tuned for resources, workshops, and even a chance to grab one of my affirmation sweaters—a daily reminder of your strength and resilience.

Here’s to a new year filled with intention, balance, and unapologetic self-care. Let’s make 2025 the year we finally put ourselves back on the priority list. Happy New Year!

XoXo, Jazz
