Unleash Your Inner Boss Mom: Cultivating Growth, Purpose, and Self-Prioritization for Fulfillment

Updated: Jun 9, 2024

Hey Girl Hey!

Let’s dive into something that's super important but often gets pushed to the back burner – making ourselves a top priority. Yup, I said it! We’re flipping the script and making self-prioritization our number one mission. Because let’s face it, when we’re at our best, everyone around us benefits, right?

Embracing Self-Prioritization:

Picture this: You’re juggling a million things – work, family, friends, pets, maybe even a plant or two that you’re desperately trying to keep alive (RIP, to those who didn’t make it). In the midst of all this chaos, where do you fit in? Well, it’s time to carve out a little slice of that pie for yourself, my friend.

1. Reclaim Your Time: Time is like gold dust, and we’ve gotta be savvy about how we spend it. Take a good, hard look at your schedule and take inventory. Are there things that are sucking up your time and energy without giving much back? What activities drain you? Consider delegating or dropping those tasks. Maybe it’s waking up 15 minutes earlier to have some quiet time with your coffee or setting aside an hour each evening for a hobby you love. It’s time to Marie Kondo that schedule and make room for the things that truly light you up.

2. Set Boundaries: Boundaries, boundaries, boundaries – they’re like the superhero capes of self-care. It’s time to slap on that cape and start setting some clear boundaries around your time and energy. Learn to say no to things that don’t serve you, and don’t feel guilty about it. Your well-being is worth it.

3. Prioritize Self-Care: Ah, self-care – it’s like the magical elixir that keeps us sane amid chaos. But here’s the thing – it’s not just about face masks and bubble baths (although those are great too!). It’s about making time for activities that fill your cup (Make sure to check out the B. M. W. monthly self-care activities), whether it’s a solo walk-in nature or a cozy night in with a good book. Whether it’s a weekly yoga class, a monthly massage, or a daily walk around the block, make it non-negotiable. And remember, self-care looks different for everyone, so do what feels right for you.

4. Invest in Yourself: Hey, you’re a boss mom, and that means you’re constantly investing in others – your business, your family, your community. But when was the last time you invested in yourself? Think of yourself as a lifelong learner. Set aside time and resources for personal and professional development. Maybe it’s enrolling in a course to upskill, hiring a coach (hint hint...ME ME ME!) to help you navigate a career transition, or simply indulging in a book that sparks your curiosity. Invest in yourself, and the returns will be priceless!

5. Practice Self-Compassion: Alright, let’s get real for a sec – we’re our own toughest critics. But here’s the truth – you’re doing the best you can, and that’s pretty darn amazing. When you stumble or fall short of your own expectations (and hey, we all do), practice self-compassion. Treat yourself with the same love and understanding you would offer to a friend. Remember, you’re doing the best you can, and that’s more than enough.

So, there you have it, Boss! – a friendly reminder to place yourselves at the tippy-top of your priority list. Because when you take care of yourself, you’re not just doing yourself a favor – you’re doing the whole world a favor. So, go ahead – pour yourself that cup of coffee (or wine, no judgment here), and let’s make self-prioritization our new favorite hobby. You’ve got this!
